Uluru (Ayers Rock) Sunset + Outback Barbecue Dinner & Star Talk

About This Experience
The evening begins with a coach drive into Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, with your driver/guide giving commentary as Uluru comes into view. At sunset you get sparkling, red and white wine, lemonade, orange juice and nibbles while the rock changes color.
After sunset you transfer to a barbecue site inside the park, set among red sand dunes and desert oak trees. It is far enough from the resort lights to give a clear view of the southern sky when the weather allows.
Dinner is a selection of Australian meats and salads with beer, wine or soft drinks; the menu can change. Tea, coffee and dessert follow.
After the meal your guide leads a tour of the night sky, using a strong spotlight to pick out visible constellations and sharing Aboriginal stories connected to the stars. The coach then returns you to your hotel.
The national park pass is extra: adults pay A$38 for 3 days and under-18s enter free.

What Travelers Say

Highly recommend this tour as this is the only company that allows you to eat inside the national park. Well, the food was not amazing. The view and the experience was stunning. It’s a magical place. Thank you, Rachel and Karen for a lovely evening.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is on the BBQ dinner menu?
A variety of Australian meats and salads, with beer, wine or orange juice; tea, coffee and dessert are served after the meal. AAT Kings notes that menus are subject to change, so tell them about dietary needs when you book.
Where is the barbecue held?
At a site inside Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, among red sand dunes and desert oaks, chosen because it is far enough from the resort lights for a clear view of the southern sky. You transfer there by coach after sunset.
What happens if it is cloudy?
The star talk runs weather permitting, so heavy cloud can cut it short or replace it. Storms can also affect the outdoor dinner. A full moon makes faint stars harder to see, so check the moon phase if stargazing matters most.
Is the park pass included?
No. Adults 18 and over need a national park pass (A$38, valid for 3 days) and under-18s enter free. Buy it online before the day and carry it printed or on your phone.
Can I cancel for free?
Yes. Viator lists this tour with free cancellation under its standard policy, but the listing data here does not state the cut-off time. Check the exact cancellation window on the Viator booking page before you pay.
