Uluru Base Segway Tour at Sunrise

4.9 (446 verified reviews)

About This Experience

This tour starts before dawn. Uluru Segway Tours collects you from your Yulara hotel for the 30-minute drive to Uluru, where you watch the sunrise over about 45 minutes. A light breakfast is served if you choose that option when booking.

At the Segway base by the Kuniya car park, your guide gives you training, a short safety briefing and a practice ride. You then ride around the entire base of Uluru, about 2.5 hours on the Segway, with stops where the guides talk about Anangu culture, plants, animals, geology and the area's European history.

The tour also includes a 30-minute guided walk into Mutitjulu Waterhole, which the listing describes as one of Uluru's lesser-known spots. Walking the base track on foot is 10.6 km and takes about 3.5 hours, so the Segway lets you see all sides of the rock with far less effort.

The tour is recommended for ages 12 to 55; under-12s cannot ride and people over 65 are discouraged because of the higher risk in a fall. Riders sign a waiver, wear closed-toe shoes and bring their own national park pass.

What Travelers Say

Rated 4.9/5 by 446 verified GetYourGuide travelers.

We had a fantastic time on our Segway tour. Our guides Nick & Harley were great, we learnt a lot about Uluru, the vegetation and animals that inhabit the area. We also had a shared send of humour. Instruction on the operation of the Segway itself was clear and we picked it up pretty quickly. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, well done team. Would recommend for sure. It was a lot of fun. 👍🏼
