Yulara: Uluru and Kata Tjuta Sunset Helicopter Tour

4.8 (175 verified reviews)

About This Experience

This 36-minute flight is the longest of the three helicopter flights reviewed on this site and the one timed for sunset. You are picked up at your Ayers Rock Resort hotel and taken by air-conditioned bus to Ayers Rock Airport, where the crew gives a safety briefing before boarding.

The route heads toward Uluru and on to Kata Tjuta. The flight passes the western face of Kata Tjuta, where Uluru and the domes can line up in a single photo, then gives views over Walpa Gorge and the Valley of the Winds, two of the park's main walking areas.

Out of respect for Anangu culture, flights do not go directly over or completely around Uluru or Kata Tjuta. Kata Tjuta has 36 domes, and from the air you can see how they spread across the plain.

The operator, Professional Helicopter Services, needs at least two passengers per flight. Luggage and large bags are not allowed on board, and the listed departure times are approximate until the operator confirms.

What Travelers Say

Rated 4.8/5 by 175 verified GetYourGuide travelers.

Uluru is magical and seeing it from the air is extra special. We were slightly unlucky as it was a bit cloudy so we didn’t get the best of sunset but in compensation we saw a double rainbow. The whole experience was managed very efficiently and was fantastic. Thoroughly recommend!
