Uluru Day Tour with Sunset BBQ - from Ayers Rock Resort

About This Experience
Emu Run Experience picks you up from your Ayers Rock Resort hotel and drives you into the national park in an air-conditioned vehicle. The first stop is the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, a mud-brick building made with the local Anangu community, where you learn about living Anangu traditions and can browse art and souvenirs.
At the base of Uluru your accredited guide leads the Mala walk along the rock's north-west face, past rock art, telling Anangu stories along the way. The Mala walk is about 2 km return on an easy track.
A second short walk takes you to Mutitjulu Waterhole, home of Wanampi, the ancestral water snake. Your guide explains how Anangu have used the waterhole for hunting and gathering over many generations and points out rock-art caves still connected to local families.
The day ends at the Uluru coach sunset viewing area, where the crew cooks an Aussie BBQ dinner and pours sparkling wine while the rock changes color. Artists sometimes sell dot paintings at sunset, so bring cash if you want to buy one.
From 1 April 2026 the national park pass is not included. Adults need one (A$38 for 3 days, under-18s free); bring a copy, digital is accepted.

Karen was an outstanding driver and guide. She was informative and entertaining. I was pleasantly surprised by the BBQ that was put on and Yad cooked a very decent steak and sausage. There was plenty to go around.
