About This Experience

AAT Kings collects you from your hotel about 45 minutes before sunset and drives you to a private barbecue site inside Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. The site sits among red sand dunes and desert oak trees, away from the resort lights, so the night sky is dark when the weather is clear.

Dinner is a buffet of grilled Australian meats (steak, sausages, chicken skewers and kangaroo) with fresh salads. You choose wine, beer, orange juice or soft drinks, and tea, coffee and dessert follow the main course. The menu can change.

After dinner your guide gives a cultural presentation on Aboriginal stories connected to the southern night sky. On clear nights a high-powered spotlight is used to point out the constellations as part of the storytelling.

The coach then takes you back to Ayers Rock Resort. The national park pass is not included: adults pay A$38 for 3 days and under-18s enter free.
