About This Experience

The coach collects you from one of four Ayers Rock Resort pickup points before dawn and drives a short way to a desert site with a view of Uluru. On the way your driver/guide explains the background of the Field of Light, an installation by artist Bruce Munro with more than 50,000 lit glass spheres on slender stems, first opened in 2016.

While it is still dark you walk the paths through the field as the colors slowly change. You then walk up to the Dune Top viewing area, where tea, coffee and hot chocolate are served.

From the dune you watch the sun rise behind Uluru, with Kata Tjuta on the horizon behind you. As daylight grows the Field of Light dims, and the raised spot gives clear photos of both Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

The coach returns you to your pickup point afterward. Breakfast is not included, so plan to eat back at the resort.

A fantastic morning adventure, the lights and the view to Uluru was incredible. However, did not present value for money

Absolutely incredible experience! The Field of Light and Sunrise Tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Uluru. Michael and Sadie were absolutely amazing — so friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming, and they made the whole experience feel so special. The tour was so well organised and run, everything flowed perfectly from start to finish. Watching the sunrise over Uluru while surrounded by the Field of Light was simply breathtaking! And the hot refreshments on such a cold morning were the perfect touch! We really appreciated all the little details that made the morning so enjoyable. A huge thank you to Michael and Sadie for making it such a memorable experience. We would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Uluru! 🌅
