About This Experience

Emu Run Experience collects you from your Alice Springs accommodation early in the morning and drives south to Erldunda, where you can buy breakfast and take a comfort break. The coach then continues west toward Yulara, with Uluru appearing on the horizon as you get closer.

After a short lunch break in the Yulara town center (lunch is at your own cost), your guide takes you to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. The building was made from about 90,000 mud bricks with the help of Anangu, the Traditional Owners, and there is free time to learn about local culture and browse the shops.

At the base of Uluru you join a guided walk along the Mala walk on the north-west side, where the guide points out rock art and shares Anangu stories. The coach then moves around to the southern side for a short walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole, home of the ancestral water snake Wanampi, and the caves Anangu used in the past.

The day ends at the Uluru coach sunset viewing area with a BBQ dinner and a glass of sparkling wine, a beer or a soft drink while the light changes on the rock. After dinner the coach drives about 5 hours back to Alice Springs and drops you at your accommodation late at night.

From 1 April 2026 the national park pass is not included, so buy it online before the day and bring a digital copy.
